Why We’re Marching

For us, this isn’t just about steps, donations, or fundraising targets.

We march for Sergeant Stuart Burney and all his brothers-in-arms.
We march for those who served, those we’ve lost, and those still carrying unseen battles.

Bad Decisions Club was built on connection, storytelling, and creating spaces where people feel seen and supported.
Marching is one of the ways we turn those values into action.

Every step honours service.
Every donation supports lives.

Why This Matters

Right now, in Australia, suicide remains one of the leading causes of death for ex-serving personnel, particularly among younger veterans.

Ex-serving men are more than twice as likely to die by suicide than other Australian men, and ex-serving women face similarly increased risk.

These numbers matter.
But for us, this isn’t just about statistics.

Soldier On stepped in when we lost our brother and showed up when it really mattered.
Their ongoing participation programs have given us continued connection with the veteran community and support for the family left behind.

They don’t just support veterans.
They support the people who love them too.

That’s why we march.
That’s why we fundraise.
And that’s why this cause is personal.
